Healthier apple and blueberry crumble

Apple pie must be one of the most baked desserts in my family’s kitchen! There are no words that can describe the sweet cinnamon and apple smell baking in the oven.

Most crumble recipes, contain a ton of added sugars and dairy. I had to reinvent something tastier and of course healthier.

The crumble came out really fluffy, nutty and light with a slightly sweet taste. I think this is my favorite recipe of the year! Yes you read that right, my favorite recipe so far this year!

Healthier apple and blueberry crumble

Gluten Free, Refined Sugar Free, Dairy Free, Vegan


1kg frozen blueberries

1kg apples, chopped

1/2 cup black chia tea

10-15 drops stevia

Dash of cinnamon to taste

For the crumble

80g pecan nuts, slightly roasted

65g gluten free self raising flour

50g gluten free rolled oats

1 lemon zested

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla essence

A pinch of salt

85g agave syrup

50g non- hydrogenated vegan butter at room temp

Serve with decadent vegan ice cream to make this summertime treat extra special.
