It’s the festive season so why not try a different kind of hummus?!
This recipe is so creamy and fluffy, serve it with some fresh summer fruit and voila you have yourself a beautiful platter.
The chocolate hummus provides your body with amazing nutritional value, it is way better than the store bought sweet dips or something like Nutella.
The recipe contains healthy protein from the chickpeas, sustainable fat from the tahini and coconut oil as well as antioxidants from the cacao. The recipe is also a good source of calcium.
If your not a fan of tahini you can easily substitute it for organic nut butter.
Gluten Free, Refined Sugar Free, Vegan Friendly
1 tin chickpeas (no added salt)
1 Tbsp melted coconut oil
5 Tbsp raw cacao powder
5 Tbsp pure maple syrup
3 Tbsp organic tahini
1 tsp vanilla extract
Dash of salt
Garnish- Cacao nibs, toasted nuts, fresh berries, assorted dried fruit
Drain the chickpeas. Add the chickpeas, melted coconut oil, cacao powder, maple syrup, tahini, vanilla and salt to a blender and blend until smooth.
Transfer the creamy hummus to a serving dish. Sprinkle with some cacao nibs and toasted nuts over the top to finish.
Store in the fridge, mix well before serving.
