Easter is just around the corner and for a lot of us, that means egg hunts, spring parties, and a LOT of sugar.
One way we work around that at our house is to make our own sweets. I love that I can make my own version of my favorite treats at home, with less sugar and no preservatives.
I love this recipe because it does not just offer a fun way of enjoying a colourful Easter ball of goodness it can also become the perfect snack for you and your family!
The key to healthy snacking is choosing foods that offer a combination of healthy fats, protein and plenty of fibre — and these bliss balls provide just that!
I love making bliss balls because they really are the perfect no-bake on the go snack. You can easily make up a batch at the beginning of the week and keep them in a sealed container in the fridge. They freeze beautifully, so you can keep a batch in your freezer or make them ahead of time if you’re hosting a get-together.

Ingredients
2/3 cup dates
1/2 cup pecans
1/2 cup almonds
1/3 cup coconut flakes
1 Tbsp cacao powder
1 Tbsp water
1 tsp coconut oil
Pinch of Himalayan salt
Colorful coating:
1 cup coconut flakes
Spirulina powder
Turmeric powder
Beetroot powder
Instructions
In a heatproof bowl, cover the dates with boiling water and leave to soak for 30 minutes to soften. Drain.
Place the rest of the ingredients in a food processor or high-powered blender and blend until well combined. Scrape down the sides of the processor or blender to ensure everything is well mixed.
The mixture should be a little sticky, but if it is too thick, try adding 1-2 tablespoons of water.
Using wet hands, roll tablespoons of the mixture into snack-sized balls.
Place the balls on the lined tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
Roll in different colours as you prefer and coat in a final layer of coconut. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
